SUMMARY:Song Path at the North Park Village Nature Center
DESCRIPTION: \nI will be re-booting my non-bootable listening hike Song Path at the North Park Village Nature Conservatory.  What is Song Path?  Go HERE to find out. \nI have often been asked\, “Where do you put the speakers?  Do you hang them in the trees”……” No\,”      “Do you strap them to dear and coyote’s?”…..”No\, no speakers”…………”Do you carry them on your back\, or do I have to carry one as we hike?”…………………no\, seriously\, no speakers. \nThe Song Path is a compositionally guided listening hike where a vibrant outdoor sonic space is chosen for its sound characteristics and a hike is designed to use those sonic features as elements of a sound piece that unfolds over the course of a walk through the woods.  I start the audience with a short listening meditation and the we follow the path in silence allowing the space to sing. \nThere will be 3 hikes available\, each an hour long. \nTimes: \nAugust 16th at 10 am and 2 pm\, August 17th at noon. \nAll hikes are fully accessible (no difficult hiking in the city) and last around 45 minutes.  Reservations are required as space is limited.   Call the North Park Village Nature Center at 312-744-5472 to reserve your spot. \nNorth Park Village Nature Center is located in Peterson Park just south of Peterson and east of Pulaski in Chiacgo’s North West Side. \nPark access is from Pulaski Ave just south of Peterson.  Go east down the park entrance and then take a left toward the Nature Center.  Parking is available just before the cul de sac adjacent to the picnic area.  We will meet at the picnic area prior to the hike and will begin the hike no later than 5 minutes after start time so please try and be punctual. \n
