SONGPATH returns to the north park Village Nature Center this summer!After a successful first run at North Park Village Nature Center last summer, I will return again with the compositionally guided sound hike Songpath. The Songpath is a piece of music in a hike in which the audience is led down a path in a natural area after a short sonic meditation “tuning” their ears to the space in order that they can hear the separate sound present in the space as different parts of a musical composition.

The Songpath at North Park Village Nature Center explores a space that allows the public to feel the complete isolation of nature while in close proximity to a busy urban sound environment.  This hike uses the drone of neighboring traffic as a background as the piece searches for places of relative silence where the constant din is drowned out or overtaken by the natural soundscape.

3 Hikes will be offered at NPVNC:

Saturday June 6th, 10 am and 2 pm.  Saturday June 13th, 1:30 pm
